Welcome to Khanly AI ("Khanly," "we," "our," or "us"). These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of the Khanly AI website, platform, applications, and related services.
By creating an account or using Khanly AI, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
1. About Khanly AI
Khanly AI is an AI-powered academic productivity platform designed to help university students research, write, analyze, study, and organize their academic work.
Our services may include:
- AI-powered academic assistance and research.
- Writing feedback, outlines, and document drafting support.
- Presentation and spreadsheet assistance.
- File uploads and document analysis.
- Study guides, exam preparation, and explanations.
- Feedback on your own drafts and explanations of course material.
- Subscription-based features and usage credits.
Features may change, improve, or be discontinued over time.
2. Eligibility and Accounts
You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep your login credentials secure.
You are responsible for activity conducted through your account. You must notify us if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization.
You must be legally permitted to enter into a binding agreement in your jurisdiction. If you are under the age of majority, you may use Khanly only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian where required by law.
You may not:
- Create accounts using false or misleading information.
- Share, sell, or transfer accounts without our permission.
- Attempt to access another user's account.
- Circumvent subscription limits or usage restrictions.
- Use the platform to violate applicable laws.
We reserve the right to suspend accounts involved in fraud, abuse, security violations, or serious breaches of these Terms.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree to use Khanly AI responsibly and lawfully.
You may not use the platform to:
- Generate or distribute illegal, fraudulent, or harmful content.
- Violate another person's intellectual property or privacy rights.
- Upload malicious software or attempt to compromise our systems.
- Reverse engineer, exploit, or interfere with the platform.
- Abuse automated systems or bypass usage restrictions.
- Produce essays, assignments, exam answers, theses, or any other work that you submit, in whole or in part, as your own for graded or credit-bearing assessment.
- Complete exams, quizzes, or tests on your behalf, or obtain unauthorized help during any assessment.
- Engage in contract cheating, plagiarism, or any other form of academic misconduct.
- Generate deepfakes, hate speech, harassment, spam, or malware, or attempt to bypass the AI's safety measures ("jailbreaking").
Academic integrity. Khanly is a study aid for learning, understanding, planning, and revising. It is not a service for writing work to be handed in. You are solely responsible for complying with your institution's academic integrity and AI-use policies. We may remove content, refuse requests, and suspend or terminate accounts that we reasonably believe are being used for academic misconduct or other prohibited use.
4. AI-Generated Content and Academic Responsibility
Khanly AI uses artificial intelligence to generate responses, analyses, recommendations, and other content.
AI-generated content may contain inaccuracies, outdated information, incomplete reasoning, or incorrect references.
You agree that:
- You are responsible for reviewing and verifying generated content before using it.
- You should independently verify important facts, statistics, quotations, and references.
- You must follow your institution's rules concerning AI-assisted academic work.
- You are responsible for the final work you submit, publish, or distribute.
- Khanly does not guarantee grades, academic acceptance, employment outcomes, or other results.
Khanly AI is an academic support tool, not a replacement for independent learning, professional judgment, or institutional guidance.
5. User Content and Uploaded Files
You retain ownership of the content you upload to Khanly AI, including documents, assignments, presentations, spreadsheets, and other materials.
By submitting content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to host, process, transmit, and use that content solely as necessary to operate, maintain, secure, and provide the services you request.
You confirm that you have the necessary rights and permissions to upload and process the content.
You should not upload confidential information, sensitive personal information, or third-party materials unless you have the right to do so.
6. Subscriptions, Payments, and Usage Limits
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the merchant of record for all our orders and handles customer service inquiries and returns related to payments.
Certain Khanly AI features may require a paid subscription.
Subscription prices, billing periods, included features, and usage limits will be displayed before purchase.
By purchasing a subscription, you authorize the applicable payment provider to charge the payment method you provide.
Unless stated otherwise at checkout:
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period.
- You may cancel future renewals through the available account or billing settings.
- Cancellation generally takes effect at the end of the current paid period.
- You retain access to paid features until the end of that period unless otherwise stated.
- Unused usage credits do not automatically carry over unless explicitly specified.
We may change subscription pricing or features. Where required by law, we will provide advance notice before changes affect existing subscriptions.
7. Third-Party Services
Khanly AI may rely on third-party services to provide its functionality, including AI providers, cloud hosting, authentication, storage, and payment processors.
These services may have their own terms and privacy policies.
We are not responsible for independent third-party services outside our reasonable control.
8. Intellectual Property
The Khanly AI name, branding, website design, software, logos, and original platform materials are owned by or licensed to Khanly AI and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, reverse engineer, or commercially exploit our platform or branding without written permission.
Subject to applicable law and third-party rights, you may use the content generated for you through the service.
9. Availability and Service Changes
We aim to provide a reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features for maintenance, security, technical, business, or legal reasons.
We are not responsible for temporary interruptions caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
Khanly AI is provided on an "as available" and "as is" basis to the extent permitted by law.
We do not guarantee that:
- AI-generated responses will always be accurate or complete.
- Every source or reference will be correct.
- The service will always be available or error-free.
- Generated academic work will receive a particular grade.
- The platform will meet every user's individual requirements.
Nothing in these Terms excludes consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Khanly AI and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, academic opportunities, or business opportunities.
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for claims relating to the service will not exceed the amount you paid to Khanly AI during the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
These limitations do not apply where prohibited by law, including liability that cannot legally be limited.
12. Termination
You may stop using Khanly AI at any time.
We may suspend or terminate your access if you seriously violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, threaten platform security, or use the service unlawfully.
Where appropriate and legally required, we will provide notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms as Khanly AI develops.
The updated version will be published on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance where legally permitted.
14. Governing Law
These Terms will be governed by the laws of the Republic of Chile, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, subject to mandatory consumer protection laws applicable to you.
If you live outside Chile, this choice of law does not take away any consumer rights you are guaranteed by the mandatory law of your own country.
